At Mount Street Academy, we are designers! We want our children to love design technology. We want them to have no limits to what their ambitions are and grow up wanting to be architects, graphic designers, chefs or carpenters.

We know that Design and Technology (DT) is often one of a child’s favourite subjects. Children enjoy making decisions for themselves and being able to engage in practical activities with a purpose. They love creating products they can see, touch and taste and feel proud to have done so.

We believe we have a responsibility to nurture creativity and innovation through design, and by exploring the designed and made world in which we all live. Our DT curriculum has been carefully designed with this in mind.

We want our children to remember their DT lessons, developing the skills and knowledge they need to take them to the next step in the journey to become designers and technologists.
