Mount Street Academy is an infant and nursery school in the heart of Lincoln City, delivering high-quality early years education for children from three to seven years old. Numberblocks is part of our maths curriculum from Nursery to Year 2 (especially now we have started to implement NCETM Mastering Number). Whilst Numberblocks is a very enjoyable programme on CBeebies which helps children enjoy maths, it goes much deeper than that. It is very carefully designed to help children see and understand key concepts in maths. It helps them see the maths, not just 'do' maths. Technology is part of everyday life for our children and for adults too. But many adults are learning about technology at the same time as our children are learning about it/discovering it. Many adults did not grow up with technology, or grew up with it not as advanced as it is now. This makes being a step ahead and/or keeping our children safe when using technology, computers and devices can feel overwhelming. Wake Up Wednesday is part of the National College and shares useful one page guides for parents/carers on the latest technology and keeping children safe when using it.
