Online safety day is coming up in the next few weeks (7th February). But online safety is always a focus for us as part of the children's learning through our computing curriculum and PSHE curriculum as well as being a significant part of safeguarding children. We have shared them before, but the really helpful 'quick read' guides available through National Online Safety are a great tool to support family grown ups in knowing what is appropriate and safe content for the age of your child, as well as step by step guides for how to make devices your child is using or borrowing (from you or an older sibling) safer and how to make age appropriate apps and devices safer to use through parental controls etc. We've attached some examples of guides that are most relevant to the age of our children, as well as relevant to conversations held with children and/or family grown ups at MSA in recent months. But if you head over to National Online Safety's Facebook page via the link above and click on like/follow, you'll receive weekly information/guides that will keep you informed of the latest information. Please also share with anyone else you feel this information would benefit.

Today is World Religion Day 2023. World Religion Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in January every year. Its aim is to promote understanding and peace between all religions, encouraging all to learn about other faiths and their followers. Whilst you may not have heard of it before, it is not new! The first such day was observed in 1950. Nearly 75% of the world practices one the six 'major religions': Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism and Sikhism. But it may surprise you to know there are over 4000 recognised religions around the world. Here at MSA we celebrate, respect and appreciate the diverse beliefs of all our children and staff, those in our community and of those around the world. #WorldReligionDay #MSADreamTeamValues #EchoTheEmuEmpathy #everyoneiswelcome #celebratingdiversity
