It is World Gratitude Day today. There are many things we are grateful for... our fabulous staff, our wonderful children and their families for starters. But we are also very grateful for Jeff, a member of our local community, who has donated this massive box of mounting card and other resources from his business, for our children to use in their art work. We are so grateful for Jeff showing that our MSA Dream Team values are found so often in our local community. We are really grateful to him for being Marmalade the Mole and Making a Difference to our children and their art opportunities! Thank you Jeff! #MSADreamTeamValues #MarmaldeTheMoleMakingADifference #WorldGratitudeDay2023

Happy World Afro Day! At MSA, we consistently seek to empower our children, of all backgrounds, to embrace their uniqueness & feel confident in their skin and identity. World Afro Day is today and is an annual celebration that aims to raise awareness about afro hair and promote self-acceptance and confidence among people with afro-textured hair. Afro hair has a deep and rich history. It's a symbol of strength, resilience, and identity. We would love it if you could spend some time with your children exploring this CBBC Newsround article and find out more together https://www.bbc.com/newsround/45146691 There are also some wonderful clips from CBeebies to watch with your children to help them better understand and celebrate hair diversity: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000lbdh https://youtu.be/e32TO0SokPI?feature=shared Today, we celebrate the beauty, diversity, and significance of afro hair types. Join us in spreading love and knowledge about afro hair! #WorldAfroDay #LoveYourAfro #WorldAfroDay2023

We have loved welcoming our new Reception cohort this week. The children have settled so well with so many new things to navigate and remember... names of new friends, names of new grown ups, names of new classes, remembering to 'choose it, use it, put it away', remembering where the toilets are and how to get back to the classroom once they've been! They have amazed us already with their Dusty the Dog determination and Ruffles the Rabbit responsibility after only 3 days! They have been very busy learning new routines, have got involved in the learning opportunities in provision, both inside and outside and the grown ups have been getting to know the children's interests. A big thank you to the family grown ups for choosing us for the start of your child's school life and for trusting us with your precious littles. We promise to look after them and make sure they flourish with us. We hope the children all have a great rest and some down time to reset over the weekend, before they do it all again next week. We can't wait! #MSADreamTeamValues #DustyTheDogDetermination #RufflesTheRabbitResponsibility #StartingSchool2023 #Reception2023

Well... what a fantastic first two days we have had with your wonderful children! It has been wonderful to have them start with/return to us and also to meet/see you all again too (you even brought the sunshine back to school with you!). The children have settled wonderfully into their new classes with new grown ups. They have shown real Dusty the Dog determination to listen to and learn new routines and shown Ruffles the Rabbit responsibility, in learning how to find their way to where they need to be, where to find the things they need and to look after their own belongings. We know it is a lot to take in, but they have done it brilliantly. We are so very proud of them all, and we know you are too. One more day and then a well deserved weekend rest for everyone, to process all of the new things and be ready for a full week next week .
